Corporate: Pahapyaw

So ayun, okay naman sa first day, kasi pinag-xerox nila ako. Inisip kong normal lang yun lalo na kapag first day so itinuloy ko.
Mag-isang intern sa library. Kanya-kanyang sikap!
The following days, nakahalata ako puro xerox at fax ang ipinagawa sa akin.

Earth Day Festival 2012

The world celebrated the Earth Day Festival 2012 last April 22, 2012 wherein several booths from different environmental NGOs gathered in CCP grounds. The celebration was actually a two-day program from April 21-22. There was also a Fun Run for the family and other programs.

We were fortunate to be part of the team who planned and organized our booth. We had games for children that will make them environmentally aware of the changes happening in our planet.

Meet the friendly Mr. Kevin Spencer from Greenpeace San Diego

Hahaha! We were tasked to "entertain" Mr. Spencer. He asked us to accompany him in eating Filipino food. :)

Well, my masterpiece, Wind turbine operated by those tiny solar panels
Ehem! Hooray! Part ito ng exhibit namin sa booth.

Meet my twin.

I really enjoyed the festival. It was indeed a fun experience with the nature.

Tudla: Silverio Massacre 1st Month

Silverio residents commemorated the first month after the bloody demolition. Tudla Productions and other media networks such as GMA, TV5 and ABSCBN were there.

The first part of the program was that the Barangay officials, congressmen, former councilor and the mother of Arnel Leonor who was killed during the demolition had spoken their insights and messages to the other residents. They vowed to continue their fight for their land and justice for Arnel.

Children sang a very meaningful song about land.

After that, they marched going to the place where Arnel fell when he was shot.

Arnel's mother plead for justice after lighting a candle.

Other residents and advocacy organizations marched at Mendiola.

This is reality. Bow.

Tudla: On Human Rights

We met Kuya Ige (the guy wearing green shirt) he's from Karapatan, an organization on Human Rights. He discussed the definition of Human Rights for the shoot of our music video wherein everyone has a part.

Hi KJ! hahaha :))

Tudla: San Roque Compound

My whole second day was spent in San Roque compound, North Triangle Quezon City. Kuya Max and a resident discussed MKLRP (Maikling Kurso sa Lipunan at Rebolusyong Pilipino).
Kuya Max draws while discusses, he is really a pro in drawing
Kuya Max pointed out three root problems of our country, Imperialism, Feudalism and Bureaucracy Capitalism (Burukratang Kapitalismo). He first reviewed the Philippine history since the Spanish colonization on how our mentality was CONTAMINATED by the Spaniards that time until the American Colonization which appeared beautiful for the Filipinos that time.

Our baons eaten in the midst of a demolished barangay
Lhane: "Ano yang ginagawa mo?" hahahaa
Nga pala, nasa kinseng interns kami dito. Siksikan, kanya-kanyang paypayan at pwesto sa pag-upo.
Gutom na si Nins!
Hagard na kami dahil sa init. :)

Define hagard!
Let's call it a day! From 10am to 7pm nandito kami. Paalam!

Tudla: Silverio Compound

Silverio Compound is a community with 26,000 families who belong in the C,D and E classes. They don't have anything but their homes and livelihoods. They have been fighting legally for their rights in their land.

2 days before the violent demolition, the Mayor delivered a speech in a graduation ceremony telling them that there will be no demolition that will happen and the residents can sleep well. The residents are not expecting that the demolition team will be hundreds of armed policemen and snipers positioned in the mall in front of the compound. Many were shot and wounded, one died. The commercial spaces in front were demolished.

We have also learned that the mainstream media delivered false reports regarding the incident that took place. They have chosen which details they are going to report. Well, business as usual.
Kuya Neko, Anakpawis, conducted an orientation regarding Silverio compound
By June 22, 2012, the land should be cleared. Silverhomes will build a condominium in area though there is no clear information on the residents' relocation area. Only 1,600 families can be accommodated by the remaining land.

Visited Aling Leticia's house before visiting other residents
Today is my first day of work here in Tudla Productions, after visiting houses and interviewing residents, we are asked to write short stories, historical background of the community, feature articles, music videos and PSAs (Public Service Announcement) regarding the violation of human rights in Silverio compound.

Together with the 15 interns, I had so much fun in my first day. Now, I already know a lot of places because we only commute in field works. It was also my first time to ride the PNR Train from Sucat to Blumentritt. It was really a memorable experience doing field works.

Yay! I'm looking forward for more learnings! It was really fulfilling to report stories of our fellow marginalized people! :)

Tudla Productions

A new chapter begins! Yay! After 4 days of boredom in a Library, I decided to transfer to Tudla Productions with 2 of my thesis mates :)

Tudla Productions is an independent alternative media. As what they say, they are biased because they cover the side of the common people. I know it will be definitely a fun experience because it is said that we will be covering rallies, demonstrations and mass integrations. We will also write articles and shoot PSAs.

I am so excited!

Imperyalismo at kahirapan
